The Porcupress (SworksDesign) is an array of acupuncture needles pressed and lightly rotated onto a distributed-but-not-yet-tamped bed to seed many holes. The idea is that after tamping these remain as pathways spreading water through the puck. It works, but is judged an expensive tool for incremental gains.
